SOUTH BEND (AP)–With No. 2 UC Santa Barbara leading No. 4 Wisconsin-Milwaukee 12-7, officials suspended Game 3 of the South Bend Regional in the bottom of the fifth inning due to heavy rain. The contest is scheduled to resume Sunday at 10 a.m. EST. The Guachos built an early 8-0 lead before the Panthers of Wisconsin-Milwaukee answered with four runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning. USCB responded with four more in the top of the third.

Neither pitcher lasted past the fourth. Wisconsin-Milwaukee starter Mike Oiler was removed after giving up six runs in one-plus innings of work. Guachos? starter Rylie Ogle lasted through the fourth, giving up seven earned runs on eleven hits, including Eric Goerdt?s 11th home run of the season. Guachos? second baseman Chad Peshke was already 3-4 with four runs batted in when play was halted. Wisconsin-Milwaukee center fielder D.J. Daggett was 2-2 with two triples, two runs scored, and two runs batted in.

Forty-five minutes after the conclusion of the Wisconsin-Milwaukee contest, Game 4 of the series will match Notre Dame and Florida International. The winner of Game 3 and the loser of Game 4 face off in Game 5, which is the last game scheduled for Saturday.

Championship Games 6 and Game 7, if necessary, will be played on Monday.
