- Today marked the second meeting all-time between Notre Dame and Liberty. The Fighting Irish topped the Flames 91-72 last season at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. That contest was part of the Chicago Invitational.
- Seniors Tyrone Nash (F), Scott Martin (G), Tim Abromaitis (F), Ben Hansbrough (G) and Carleton Scott (F) started today’s contest. That quintet has started both games this season.
- Senior forward Tyrone Nash extended his consecutive games played streak to a team-best 52 straight games.
- Tyrone Nash tied a single-game career-high total with 16 points on Sunday. He also netted 16 last season against St. John’s
- Tyrone Nash made a single-game career-high 12 (12-15) free throws. His previous high was seven on two occasions.
- Ben Hansbrough’s three-pointer with just over two minutes elapsed in the contest extended Notre Dame’s streak to 376 straight games with a made three-pointer.
- Ben Hansbrough reached double-digits in points for the 51st time in his career, and 25th time in a Notre Dame uniform, with his team-high 19 points on Sunday. Hansbrough has reached double digits in both games this season.
- Ben Hansbrough tied a career-high with five made three-pointers (5-8). He has hit five treys in a game four times. Prior to today, the last time Hansbrough made five three-pointers in a single contest was the season opener of the 2009-10 campaign when he did so against North Florida.
- With his 10 points on Sunday, Eric Atkins became the first Irish freshman to reach double-figures in points since Joey Brooks netted 12 last season against Bucknell (Dec. 22, 2009).
- Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey has never lost a home game in November during his 10-plus seasons with the Fighting Irish. Including today’s victory, Notre Dame is 32-0 all-time at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center in November under Brey.
