Notre Dame to Host Chicago State

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame baseball team returns to the Eck at 6:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday, when it faces Chicago State. The Irish are scheduled to play an exhibition game against the South Bend Cubs on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET at Four Winds Field.

Notre Dame leads the all-time series versus Chicago State, 32-1, and owns a 30-1 mark at home. Most recently, the Irish defeated Chicago State, 7-4, on March 28, 2017, at Frank Eck Stadium.

Notes

  • Cameron Brown will start for the Irish on Tuesday.
  • Over the last four games, Notre Dame starting pitchers own a 2.13 ERA (6 ER/25.1 IP).
  • Irish outfielder Matt Vierling has hit safely in 18 of 20 games in the month of March, batting .338 (26-77) with two doubles, one triple, four homers and 20 RBI during that span. Vierling owns eight multi-hit games in March.
  • Alex Kerschner has hit safely in 13 of his last 16 games.
