THE LOWDOWN
The Irish complete a 12-team field at the Clemson Invitational, which include two other ACC teams in the host school and Boston College. Clemson has claimed the tournament crown in each of the first two years.
The field consists of Notre Dame, No. 15 Clemson, Boston College, Elon, Furman, George Mason, Navy, SMU, Winthrop, Wofford, UConn and UNC Wilmington.
THE FIGHTING IRISH FIVE
No change in the Irish fivesome this weekend in Ben Albin, Davis Chatfield, Miguel Delgado, John Felitto and Davis Lamb. In addition, Kevin Conners will be competing as an individual.
In the two March tournaments, Felitto shone bright, shooting a combined seven-under par, including a top-10 finish at the Schenkel Invitational. Also, showing great consistency has been Albin, who has shot exactly 213 (-3) in each of the past two tournaments. Next, Chatfield led the Irish in the last tournament, shooting a 211 (-5) at K-State Bighorn.
“We are peaking at the right time as we prepare for next week’s ACC Tournament. This week at Clemson will be a great test in a very competitive field,” Notre Dame head coach John Handrigan added.
