Kevin Hester, a pastor and father of four, has been named the winner of the 2004 Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp essay contest sponsored by Meijer. Hester’s wife, Amy, submitted the winning essay, nominating her husband for a spot in the contest.
The Decatur, Mich., native will be awarded a spot in the 2004 Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp, and have his experience documented by local NBC-affiliate WNDU-16.
In April, local Meijer stores and Notre Dame Sports Properties began accepting nominations and essay entries in the contests. The nominees were required to be 21 years of age, in good physical condition and willing to sign release waivers. The essays were sent to a selection committee that judged each entry and selected a winner.
The 2004 Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp, to be held June 30-July 4, includes practice sessions on Cartier Field, use of the Notre Dame Stadium locker room, authentic Notre Dame football game and practice apparel, dinners in the Joyce Center Monogram Room and Notre Dame Stadium press box, a golf tournament, plus motivational speakers, game videos and action photos.
